LAVA ULTIMATE
Lava™ Ultimate Restorative, from 3M ESPE, is a monolithic resin nano ceramic material for single unit crowns or onlays/ inlays. Lava™ Ultimate Restorative advanced material technology has been coded by ADA as an all-ceramic material. You can conveniently add occlusal and interproximal contacts chairside using a light cured direct composite eliminating the need to return to the lab. Lava™ Ultimate is a very kind to opposing dentition and has excellent shock absorbing characteristics making it excellent for implant supported crowns. The composite material also allows easy implant abutment access, simply cut hole, reseal with composite, cure, and polish.
Cementation
It is critical to follow 3M ESPE cementation requirements when cementing this material. Lava™ Ultimate Restorations must be bonded with adhesive resin cement. 3M ESPE recommends RelyX™ Ultimate Adhesive Resin Cement with Scotchbond™ Universal Adhesive, a primer, and adhesive in one bottle. The flexibility of this system enables the dentist to etch the tooth preparation using a self-etch, selective-etch, or a total-etch all with one system.
